I left my job teaching English at a university in Quito, Ecuador to move to Valencia, Spain in my early twenties. One of the teachers I worked with there asked if I could create a story for the children to review during their unit on myths and fables, and I decided to write a fictional piece on how the first clouds were created. The words just flowed. Years later, I submitted the piece to a children’s magazine. The story was accepted and a talented illustrator named Nadira Filatova brought my words to life.
