Sightseeing in Segovia, Spain

This post is mainly a photo dump from Segovia, Spain because that’s what happens when I wait years to write about a trip 😀 From what I can recall, I went on a day trip from Madrid with a small group of people who were also English teachers. We spent the day sightseeing and also ate cochinillo.

Catedral de Segovia

The cathedral’s gothic exterior was stunning. Though our group never entered, I can only imagine the interior would be just as impressive.

The big dome seen in the left-hand side of this photo will always help you to know where the cathedral is located.

Segovia’s Aqueduct

The aqueduct was built in the first century and the 167 arches were still used to bring spring water into Segovia until 1973! This photo only shows you a small portion of the iconic structure. I found it to be a beautiful place to watch sunset take place.

You can get beautiful views of the city lighting up through the arches after nightfall.
You can climb stairs nearby the aqueduct to get a better view of how far it stretches.
If all you can swing is a day trip to Segovia, definitely plan to stay and see the city at night before departing.
